As we know, November is dedicated to gratitude. Moments to be grateful for in November include a few topics like Veteran's Day (11/11), World Kindness Day (11/13), and National Adoption Month.
Many of us — whether personally or through friends and family — have been touched by these experiences. Remember, it’s okay not to be okay. We’re here to remind you of the resources and support that United Way offers for YOU ❤️

CHEERS TO OUR BRAND REFRESH 🙌
“The global brand refresh is a significant milestone in our organization’s 137-year history and represents our commitment to evolve and innovate in order to meet the changing needs of our communities worldwide” said Angela F. Williams, president and CEO of UWW. “It signifies our organization's longstanding journey, while also embodying our transformative approach to remain relevant, sustainable, impactful now and in the future.
By aligning with the global brand refresh, and further unifying with our global network, our United Way will be better equipped to tackle the unique needs of our community and drive meaningful change in the lives of individuals and families here in the Chippewa Valley. This strategic branding approach helps us to better amplify the impact we are having not just in our community but in all communities where we operate.

When you support us, you are investing in innovative, research based and results-focused initiatives. These initiatives coordinate the work of local programs, service providers and community stakeholders in the Chippewa Valley. Each Program Partner is funded under a specific initiative that is driven by a bold goal that keeps everyone working toward the same mission.
|
|
Bold Goal:
Chippewa Valley residents will achieve self-sufficiency through employment training and personal money management skills.

Program Description:
Western Dairyland Community Action Agency was established on June 6, 1966, under the Economic Opportunity Act to help disadvantaged individuals in Buffalo, Jackson,
Trempealeau, and Eau Claire counties in West Central Wisconsin. The agency’s mission is to alleviate poverty-related conditions and provide opportunities that enable people to
advance economically and socially. The agency works with individuals and organizations to improve the quality of life for all. It is governed by a 24-member Board of Directors representing a cross-section of the community. Eight members are local elected officials, eight are representatives of the low-income community, and eight are representatives of community groups and organizations. Fresh Start builds homes while rebuilding lives by providing education, career development, and independent living skills to members. Members ages 16 to 25 will work together for 28.5 hours a week and, during a year, will build 1 house from the ground up.

How does UWGCV strengthen your program?
The support of UWGCV has been instrumental in enhancing our program. As a critical
local funding partner, they have played a crucial role in connecting us—and our
participants—with other organizations dedicated to improving financial stability in our
communities. United Way has also been highly effective in promoting volunteer
opportunities within its network, which has introduced us to new, enthusiastic program
volunteers. Additionally, UWGCV has significantly boosted our visibility in the Chippewa
and Eau Claire areas through their campaigns and community events, providing essential promotion for our initiatives.
What is your greatest program need?
In recent years, Fresh Start has focused on recruiting young adults aged 16-17. However, our program is open to individuals up to age 24. One of our current priorities is to expand our outreach to include more opportunity youth aged 18-24, allowing us to diversify our participant base. We are actively seeking connections and partnerships to help us reach this demographic. Your support in broadening our network would be invaluable in fulfilling this goal.
