November 16, 2021 Newsletter

Welcome! It’s an exciting time at United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley! We recently passed a couple of key milestones in our work. Our sweepstakes deadline passed on November 5, which means we had a many pledges come in as workplace campaigns closed for the year. In addition, our grant cycle process continues and Advisory Councils finished their work on grant applications after a thorough evaluation process.
Early indications suggest that our annual campaign will rebound this year after a decline during a tough 2020 year. The majority of workplace campaigns are higher than last year. Many companies have utilized our new online platform for special events, which has really helped FUNraising. Our own office did a “Pie in the Face” fundraiser that brought in over $5,000! Thank you to all that have chosen to invest in our mission and strengthen Chippewa Valley communities! If you have not yet pledged or donated as a part of our campaign, it is not too late! You can give or pledge by calling our office or visiting our website.
In late December, grant recipients will be announced for the 2022-2025 grant cycle. Over 35 great programs applied for funding and our Advisory Councils spent considerable time scoring applications and reviewing the scores of our Grant Review Teams and Financial Review Teams. I continue to be amazed by the talent and dedication of our Advisory Councils and their chairs. These volunteers add considerable value to our work at UWGCV. You’ll hear from those Advisory Council Chairs over the next several months of our newsletter!
Thank you to all that make the great work of United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley possible. Our staff couldn’t do our work without our loyal donors, supportive companies, Program Partners, and many volunteers.

Sincerely,
