May 2025 Newsletter

Hello Chippewa Valley!

May brings a spirit of momentum — flowers blooming, days warming, and a renewed drive to turn vision into action (a lot of rain too...). It’s a time when the seeds of spring begin to show real promise and our efforts in the Chippewa Valley continue to take root and grow.

With each partnership, project, and story, we’re reminded that lasting change is built step by step, together. As we head into this season of possibility, let’s keep leaning into connection, compassion, and collective impact.

Thank you for being a vital part of this movement.

Each Program Partner is funded under a specific initiative that is driven by a bold goal that keeps everyone working toward the same mission.

This Initiative's Bold Goal -

Organization Description -

The Chippewa Valley Free Clinic (CVFC) is a safety-net health care organization that provides medical, dental, pharmacy, vision and behavioral health services to individuals without access to healthcare. The clinic operates year-round with regularly scheduled hours and holds specialty clinics for mental health, chronic disease management, vision, physical therapy and eye care. The Chippewa Valley Free Clinic was established in 1997 and depends on volunteers and generous community support to fulfill its mission in the community. The clinic was founded by a group of compassionate, forward-thinking community leaders who came together to create a health care service for the uninsured and low-income. Since its start, the clinic has been generously supported by many business leaders, church and service groups, committed individuals and family and community foundations.

UWGCV's role in strengthening this program -

The United Way has been a partner of the Chippewa Valley Free Clinic for many years and our mission aligns well with United Way. We are appreciative of the United Way as having their finger on the pulse of the community and its needs; along with sharing their commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals in our community. Through United Way's quarterly meetings, we are able to network and learn from other non-profits in the area to help problem solve and assist each other. We are so appreciative of the ongoing support we receive from the United Way.

Greatest need(s) for this program -

Our greatest need continues to be volunteers which are at the heart of the clinic. We have immediate needs for volunteer Providers, Dental Hygienists, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Lab Technicians, Pharmacy Technicians and Interpreters. Shifts are on Tuesday night clinics and the first and third Thursday of each month, during the day.
