April 2025 Newsletter

As they say, April showers bring May flowers 💐 🌼

As spring fully takes root, we’re reminded that growth thrives with care and dedication. April is a season of renewal—longer days, fresh possibilities, and a deepening commitment to the work ahead.

Just as nature flourishes, so does our passion for strengthening Chippewa Valley communities. By bringing people and resources together, we continue to create meaningful change and advance the common good.

From new initiatives to community connections, this season is filled with opportunities to make an impact. Let’s make this spring one of growth, collaboration, and lasting change!

Thank you for being part of this journey.

When you support United Way, you're investing in innovative, research based and results-focused initiatives. These initiatives coordinate the work of local programs, service providers and community stakeholders in the Chippewa Valley. Each Program Partner is funded under a specific initiative that is driven by a bold goal that keeps everyone working toward the same mission.

This Initiative's Bold Goal -

Mental Health of Chippewa Valley residents will improve by utilizing prevention and intervention programs.

Organization Description -

Children's WI - Eau Claire provides mental health counseling services to children and their families. Masters-prepared therapists are trained in a variety of techniques, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy approaches, Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention. UWGCV's role in strengthening this program -

United Way has provided connections between our program and other similar programs that focus on health (both physical and mental health) for children and their families. These connections allow us to collaborate at times and find support when needed.

Children's WI works together with the Eau Claire School system to provide school based services. Eau Claire Department of Human Services also refers children and their families to receive services at times, when they have experienced a trauma.

Greatest need(s) for this program -

We need for people to know that we are here! Our small size and perhaps our location lead to low visibility for us at times.

Key Takeaways for this organization -

Children's WI has a long tradition of working to make the children in Wisconsin the healthiest in the nation. We are committed to serving kids and families, and especially to helping them heal from traumas.
