Hello my name is Mike Tzanakis and I have supported United Way throughout my working career and now into retirement. I have been involved formally with United Way through the Board of Directors post from Chippewa Falls since 2017. I have just finished this past year as the campaign chair for the 2020 – 2021 campaign year. If I had picked a year to be the campaign chair it wouldn’t have been 2020 for sure! But with that being said, I appreciate the donors who really stepped up this past year, as well as continuing into 2021 for their support and ever-increasing donations to support the many programs the United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley has funded this past program cycle.
Many people ask me - Why United Way? I quickly tell them because the synergy that the UWGCV can provide to program partners with resources and the ability to quickly provide assistance to all those who need help is unparalleled. United Way has the ability to cast a wide net in the valley to help those who need the most help, especially the past couple years given the health crisis.
I was very proud to be on the board that approved the release of over $500,000 to fund COVID-19 related programs offered by several program partners that addressed the needs of the youngest population. This work is very gratifying, and I am happy to be a part of the Chippewa Valley.
I am hopeful that the pandemic restriction will ease and we will have the opportunity to reach out to each other and say hello, so please accept my humble Thank You for supporting The United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley.
